TBI upcoming season update
17 Feb by Coach Allen
We wanted to send an early update to keep everyone in the loop on what is happening behind the scenes.
Two newsletters have already been published:
• One recognizing players and highlighting their school seasons
• One focused on reaching out to colleges and navigating the recruiting process
As we transition into AAU season, here is what is ahead.
We are currently organizing:
• Media Day
• Mandatory tournaments
• Exposure and warm up tournaments
Our approach is intentional. We are not entering tournaments just to play. We will compete where it makes sense for development and exposure. When appropriate, we may supplement with quality scrimmages instead. The majority of June has been intentionally left open to allow for school camps, practices, and team commitments.
Tentative tournaments are listed on the game schedule calendar so families can look ahead and plan accordingly. Our first planned tournament is The Prime Event in Mansfield, TX on March 28th.
Media Day will take place on an upcoming Sunday. After the media portion, we will host a season kickoff. Once the date is finalized, additional details will follow.
First official practice: March 8th.
We are hopeful we may also be celebrating a teammate competing for a state championship around that time.
During the school year Thursdays will remain voluntary skill and team development days, except during tournament weeks. Practices will be mandatory for players who do not have school obligations. If transportation is ever a concern, Momma Ross is available to assist with rides when needed.
Questions:
• Practice or player expectations – Coach Allen
• Media Day, scheduling, or travel – Miss Angi
• Overall team matters – Coach Malcolm
We look forward to getting back into AAU season and beginning our first year on the Select 40 circuit. The minimum two week rest period is intentional. It allows bodies and minds to reset before the next phase begins.
For us to succeed, every player must be locked in and ready to compete.
